Keys made, locks opened,
no main dealer.

Lost every key to a 2019 Golf? A dealer will quote you four hundred pounds and a week without the car. We cut and program a replacement where the car is, usually inside ninety minutes.

Why people ring us instead

A dealer bills the recovery too

A main dealer cannot come to you, so a lost key means a flatbed to the garage on top of the key itself. That is where the four hundred pounds comes from, and it is the part nobody mentions on the phone.

We come to the car

Roadside, driveway, work car park or a supermarket. No recovery, no waiting for a slot at a garage.

Opened, not forced

Non-destructive entry is the whole trade. We pick or decode the lock rather than drill it, and the car leaves as it arrived.

Priced before we move

Your registration tells us the key type and the equipment needed. You get a figure on the phone, not an estimate on the driveway.

Old keys deleted

Every lost key is wiped from the immobiliser as part of the job, so a key that turns up later will not start the car.

Two different jobs

Locked out, or lost your keys?

People ring us with both and assume they are the same call. They are not: one is priced by how fast we can get to you, the other by what your car needs programming. Working out which you have takes about ten seconds.

Emergency lockoutKeys locked in, snapped, or gone entirely
  • Dispatched straight away, seven days a week
  • Typically with you inside 40 minutes
  • Opened without drilling or damage
  • Priced on the phone before we set off
  • Evenings and weekends at the same rate
  • A new key is a separate job if you need one
  • Not the cheapest route if you can wait
Planned key workSpare keys, worn fobs, key programming
  • Booked for a day and a time that suits you
  • Cheaper per key, and cheaper again for two
  • At your home, your work, or our unit
  • Vehicle checked for stored fault codes first
  • Old lost keys deleted from the immobiliser
  • Not a same-hour service, though often same-day
  • Some models need the car at the unit

Not sure which applies to you? Ring and say what happened. Two questions usually settles it, and we will tell you if the cheaper option is the right one.

NG20 KEY

Your registration tells us the key type, the security system and the equipment the job needs. That is the price, whether we are with you in forty minutes or on Tuesday morning.

  • No call-out fee on top of the quoted figure
  • If we cannot do your model, we say so first

What you ring with

Registration and postcode

Those two tell us the key type, the security system and how far we are coming. Together they are the price.

Before we move

A figure, not an estimate

Quoted on the phone. If we cannot do your model we say so then, rather than turning up and charging you for the trip.

At the car

Ownership checked first

Photo ID against the V5C before anything is opened. Anyone who skips that step is a problem, not a bargain.

Key cut, programmed, lost keys deleted, and you start the car yourself before any money changes hands.

What it costs

Priced by what your car needs

A 2004 Corsa and a 2022 Range Rover are different jobs, so the figure comes from your registration rather than a menu. These are the bands almost everything falls into.

Keys logged against the registration

A van off the road because a driver lost the only key costs more in a morning than a spare set costs for the year. We batch fleet work, log every key against its reg, and invoice monthly.

  • Every key recorded against its registration

Asked at the roadside

The questions we get most

Usually asked while somebody is standing next to a car they cannot get into. If yours is not here, ring and ask — it costs nothing and we would rather answer it now.

Call 0115 960 4128
Will you damage the car getting in?

No. Non-destructive entry is the whole trade — we open the lock rather than force it, and drilling is a last resort we have not needed in years.

If a lock genuinely cannot be opened without damage, we stop and tell you what the alternative costs before doing anything.

How do you know the car is mine?

We check before anything is opened. Photo ID matching the V5C, or the V5C plus something linking you to the address, and we record what we saw.

Anyone who does not ask you for that is a problem, not a bargain.

Can you make a key with no key at all?

Yes. That is the most common job we do. We read the lock or the vehicle's data, cut a key to match and program it to the immobiliser.

It takes longer than copying an existing key, which is why a spare booked in advance is always cheaper than a replacement in an emergency.

Are you cheaper than a main dealer?

Almost always, and usually by a lot, because a dealer bills recovery to the garage as well as the key. We come to the car instead.

There are exceptions. A handful of very new premium models are genuinely dealer-only, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than charge you to find out.

What if my old keys are still out there?

They get deleted from the immobiliser as part of the job. Once that is done a lost key will not start the car even if somebody finds it.

If you have been broken into rather than just misplaced them, say so when you ring. It changes what we recommend.
